A Big Step Forward
In 2023, my business journey took a big step forward. I started my business back in 2017, and over the years, I've grown not just as a businesswoman but also as a person. This year, something special happened—I officially became a "Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) “, recognized by the Professional Photographers of America, a group that's been around since 1868.
This year, I decided to focus more on promoting my Boudoir Photography and kicked off a project called Fabulous Over 40 for Women. Many women joined in for different sessions, like Personal Branding, Family Portraits, and especially Boudoir Sessions. Boudoir photography, where women are photographed in a more intimate and empowering way, became a big part of my business this year.
The Boudoir Sessions turned out to be a game-changer. It helped women see themselves in a new and positive light, boosting their confidence and making them feel comfortable in their own skin. For some, it was like discovering a new sense of freedom, doing something they had never tried before. Because of my background in psychology, these sessions became more than just photoshoots; they became like therapy sessions, creating a special and safe space for women. This was particularly true for those in my Boudoir VIP Facebook group—a community where women could share their experiences and support each other.
Getting certified as a professional photographer was a big achievement, but the real joy came from watching my clients transform in front of my camera. Each click wasn't just capturing a moment; it was creating a space for self-discovery, empowerment, and celebration. This year taught me that my business is not just about taking photographs; it's about helping women embrace their beauty and feel confident in who they are. And that, to me, is the true success of my 2023 business story.
As my business continues to evolve, guided by the lessons of this transformative year, the true success lies in the positive impact made on the lives of those who entrusted me with their stories. I truly love every genre of my business, whether it is working with children or adults; each person has something unique to share, and their stories stay with me. Embracing these diverse narratives enriches my work, creating a tapestry of experiences that shape the heart and soul of my photography journey. The genuine connections formed through the lens remain at the forefront of my professional endeavors, propelling my business into a future where the power of storytelling continues to inspire and uplift.
