winter-relates-kidneys-brain-bones-and-hearingKeeping A Great Feeling Head & Brain - Inner Smile, Clarity, Focus & Tools to Stop Migraines before they come (if you get a warning as some do)“my hands are warm, my feet are warm”.

This is a great mantra to say in the winter for anyone, especially in Wisconsin in January - where I am and when I am now. And if you are a person who gets headaches and ESPECIALLY MIGRAINES.  If you are the kind of person who gets a warning - that oh shit, a migraine is coming.

I studied with Professor Dr. Eric Pepper at San Francisco State University’s Holistic Health Institute. He had us do bio-feedback with research clients that we trained to do one simple thing when having a headache and especially before - when they got that warning a migraine was coming. If you are a person who gets a warning, go to the bathroom or somewhere that you won’t be disturbed. If at all possible be alone, but if that cannot be avoided- let kids or anyone who is with you - that you need 2 to 5 or more minutes to do this.

Sit with your eyes closed and take slow deep breaths and keep repeating, “my hands are warm my feet are warm” - like all medical qigong prescriptions. You are telling your brain what to do. You are warming your extremities and getting the blood to travel the farthest away as it can get from the head. Thereby, stopping a migraine before it starts.

I also ask clients with frequent headaches to try LI 4 or GB 41 or 31 is my favorite to pull the headache down and out of those points. LI is the large intestine, GB is gall bladder - points locator.

Winter is a time to do less and hibernate. I find it fascinating that there are many women doing a lot and rather than taking this time to take it easy-make fewer appointments if at all possible. Add to it Mercury Retrograde where we would do our best to finish things and reflect. Which just ended on Jan. 18th—-so congrats -you made it. What may have seemed like you had a Hella brain fog——it may be lifted now.

What can you do for brain fog? kidney exercises and heart kidney meditations like Kan Li—- send me a response to this article and I will send you a handout and a video for Kan Li. Where Heart fire and Kidney water- connect and communicate—causing clarity—-and stronger bones, removal of scar tissue, and stronger fighter T cells—and, and, and and.

Photo Courtesy of Abby KihanoThe great thing about Medical Qigong Therapy and prescription meditation is that we are able to change our physical bodies and their situations. Yet, every cell in our body that has ears for our moving and seated meditations——also has ears for any negative thoughts or words.  Keeping your head clear and able to focus and having clarity to finish and stay steadfast - are all practices. Especially when things are challenging, or we are should-ing on ourselves.

One thing I love to say, that Caterina Rando says (of www.CaterinaRando.com ) ===ask yourself — is this the highest use of my time?   What I love to say all day, is if this is all I get done today, this is the one thing that I was meant to get done.

One of the top things that we ladies should ourselves about, is feeling that we did not get enough done in one day.  I invite you to carry around your accomplishments, rather than your to-do lists. Yes, you can make to-do lists.  However, before you go to bed - think of all that you have accomplished in the day. Even if it is one thing. You went for a walk. You did the dishes. You had a meeting. You did the shopping. Whatever 1 or more things you did—-say to yourself

  • I love that I ……………….did this
  • I feel so…………………that I did it
  • I thank GUSD*…….for it……………

(God, Universe, Source, Divine- your choice)

It is our choice - free will to feel good or to feel otherwise. Honor anything that arises and do healing sounds to transmute it.

  • if you need the healing sounds / 5-element chart let me know
