Own Your Worth, Girl: You Don’t Need a New Year's Resolution — You Need Permission & Structure

Here we are in January—or what I lovingly call Self-Hatred Month.
This is the time of year when we come face to face with the extra pounds, the over-charged credit cards, and the familiar feeling that we somehow “blew it” again.
It’s also when so many people unknowingly set themselves up to fail with New Year’s resolutions.
Even though most resolutions are abandoned by January 16th, we still make them every year.
Why?
Because we think this time will be different.
The truth is, resolutions rarely work. And worse, they often chip away at our self-trust and quietly reinforce self-criticism.
Here’s what I know after more than 20 years as a certified master coach:
Instead of resolutions, choose a word—or a phrase—that calls you forward.
A theme.
An intention.
Something that feels alive in your body.
It doesn’t need to make sense to anyone else.
This year, mine is:

Own Your Worth, Girl.
It’s time for me to truly own it.
Feel free to borrow that one.
I spend a lot of time coaching women to own their worth and their accomplishments—
and yes, we often teach what we’re still learning to master ourselves.
Here’s the thing.
Change is hard.
Behavior change is hard.
Mindset change is hard.
Humans are wired to resist change—even when it’s good for us.
That’s why I focus less on dramatic declarations and more on:
· small, meaningful habits
· and putting structure around those habits

For some reason, developing a habit feels far more achievable than declaring a resolution.
So here’s an idea for you.
If you’ve been putting off becoming more visible—on video or in public speaking—
what if you stopped relying on willpower and started using structure instead?
Structure and accountability are incredibly powerful… even though we resist them.
They actually set you up to win.
You could:
· Find a video buddy and send each other content
· Hold each other accountable to posting
· Have someone who lovingly won’t let you off the hook
Or…
You could come play with me.
I have a new Short Form Video Program starting very soon, and it’s one of my favorite spaces to teach.
We laugh.
We create.
We cheer each other on.
And we grow—together.
And here’s the best part:
This work goes far beyond “confidence on camera.”
One of my clients, Tanya, said it beautifully:
“This class was a game-changer for me. Suddenly, ideas and content just kept flowing out of me. I was making videos and actually having fun doing them. I didn’t even recognize myself. Run, don’t walk to take this class.”
Now is the moment to do something differently.
Don’t you owe it to yourself—and your dreams—to become visible?
This is your time.
Stop waiting.
Start creating.

And if you’d like to learn more about the program:

Remember:
It’s never too late to start.
It’s never too late to become who you’re meant to be.
And it’s never too late to learn a skill that can catapult you into your vision.
You don’t need a resolution.
You need permission—and a structure that supports you.
And that?
We can absolutely build together.
