Confession….
I’ve been in a funk.
I hate to admit that.
I’m supposed to be fun, high energy, uplifting and fun.
I’ve got some really cool gigs and projects going.
And I’ve been sad about my mother’s decline.
I miss my dad, who we lost last year so I’m still processing him and all of that.
I miss my friends on the East Coast….
I know….self pity, self absorption….me, me, me, me……
Here’s the thing that helped me….
Connection and Inspiration.
I connected with a friend and just said: I need to say this out loud to a safe friend.
I was tired, but I knew that jumping on my spin bike to sweat and get some endorphins going would give me energy and get me out of my head….which can be a dangerous place…..
As I was scrolling as I spun, I saw many inspiring stories.
As I was sweating and opening my heart…I felt my funk melt away…

I was open, and that’s when I was filled with awe.
If you watched the Kentucky Derby, you know that Golden
Temp came from dead last and won.
His trainer was ……, the first female trainer to win in the 152 years of the race.
As they were coming up from behind, the jockey, Jose…..made all the right moves. It was his 12th Kentucky Derby but his first win.
The purse was 31 million, and the trainer and the jockey get 10% of that, which is $310,000.
Here’s the part that got me: Cherie gave Jose her part of the purse.
She wanted to honor him. His grandfather and father were jockeys, and his brother was on the 2nd place horse at this race.
My point is, I kept reaching for connection even though I was in a funk.

Because of that practice, I was able to shift my energy and vibe and be inspired to tears because of this woman’s grace and generosity.
Connection can be the smallest thing and yet make the biggest difference, which is why I want you to come be a part of our connection movement and community……
It’s called Hug in the Mail…..
